Why not just ChatGPT?
A chat writes with what you give it – usually a CV and “write me a motivation letter”. The result sounds like everyone else’s. Our questions bring out what makes a letter specific: the side job, the internship, volunteering, the real reason for your choice.
Every number and date in the letter is compared with your answers. What you call a “maybe” does not appear as a fact. What is missing, we ask about instead of inventing it.
Recipient, date, subject line, the university’s word limit, plus a list of what to check before sending and which documents the ad asks for. If the university does not require a motivation letter at all, we tell you.

Frequently asked questions
How long is a motivation letter?
For Ausbildung and internships usually one page. For university there is no fixed rule: many programmes set a word or character limit, and we follow it exactly when you paste the text of the programme page. Without a limit we write about 300 to 450 words.
Should my motivation letter be in German or English?
In the language you will study or work in: German for Ausbildung, studies and internships in Germany; English for English-taught programmes, international companies or an internship abroad. You can answer in German and still get an English letter.
May I use a motivation letter written with AI?
Each university decides this itself. Some ask you to declare that you wrote the letter yourself. Use our text as a draft, rework it in your own words and read your university's application rules.
What is the difference between a motivation letter and a cover letter (Anschreiben)?
Universities and scholarship providers mainly ask for a motivation letter: it explains why you choose this subject and what has prepared you for it. For Ausbildung and internships, German employers expect an Anschreiben with recipient and subject line. cvfix writes the right document for your goal. Whether a university requires a motivation letter at all is stated in its list of application documents.
